Finance Assistant – Aurora Foxes 

Location: Minehead Somerset

Salary:  £25,272 - £27,331.20

Hours: 40 Hours per week 

Closing Date: Sunday 24th November 2024

The main purpose of the role: 

 

As our Finance Assistant your role will be to ensure all financial processes ore complete for Aurora Foxes and the central finance team. This will involve monitoring and checking pretty cash reconciliations, day to day administration of Soldo debit cards, working closely with the central finance office in relation to purchase ledger/purchase order activities, supporting the hotel with income transactions and ensuring sufficient funds are available in pretty cash at all times. 

Duties may vary and you will be expected to support and assist the Business Manager on a day-to-day basis as required. 

Key duties: 

  • Work closely with the Central Finance Operations Team in relation to Purchase Ledger/Purchase Order activities.
  • Work with onsite staff, providing help and guidance as necessary, to ensure that all Purchase Orders are raised prior to ordering or works being commissioned and ensure that those making requisitions are receipting goods and services appropriately.
  • Assist Central Finance Operations team with any PO related
  • Monitoring and checking petty cash reconciliations received and issuing petty cash. Liaising with managers on queries and best practice. Submission of monthly reconciliation report to Central Finance.
  • Day to day administration of debit and credit cards, including correct coding and submission of monthly reconciliation report to Central Finance.
  • Liaising with the Hotel team to ensure that income is received
  • Responsibility for banking and recording income including card purchases
  • During colleague absence, assist Business Manager and Senior Administrator with the monthly Payroll process as required.
  • Support the admin team in making yourself available to cover reception duties when required

Skills and Qualifications

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Level 2 in Maths and English.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Intermediate MS Excel knowledge.
  • Good IT skills with the ability to use multiple systems.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent e. Level 2 or 3 Bookkeeping (desirable)
  • English & Maths level 2
  • Knowledge and experience as a finance assistant.
  • Experience of accounting software (desirable).
  • Hotel experience (desirable).
  • Team player.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work to targets and deadlines.
