NVQ Assessor – Aurora Foxes

 

Location: Minehead Somerset

Salary:  £28,365.55 - £31,406.21 (FTE £30,659.20 - £33,945.60)

Hours: 40 Hours per week, time plus additional days and training (42 weeks per year)

Contact: 12 month FTC

 

Welcome to Aurora Foxes, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities, situated in the friendly seaside town of Minehead. Foxes is a very special place.

The main purpose of the role:

 

As an NVQ Assessor, you will play a vital role in assessing the competence and skills of our students pursuing NVQ qualifications in the field of hospitality. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate learners' performance in accordance with the NVQ standards, ensuring that they meet the required criteria and achieve their learning goals. This role requires a deep understanding of the hospitality industry and a passion for supporting learners in their professional development.

 

Key duties:

 

  • Conduct assessments: Perform fair, accurate, and timely assessments of learners' competence in line with the NVQ standards and assessment criteria.
  • Individual learning plans: Develop and implement individualized learning plans for learners, tailoring them to their specific needs and goals.
  • Provide guidance and support: Offer constructive feedback and guidance to learners, helping them identify areas for improvement and providing resources to enhance their skills.
  • Maintain records: Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress reports, and learner achievements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff: Work closely with teaching staff to ensure alignment of curriculum and assessment strategies, sharing insights and best practices.
  • Stay updated: Stay informed about industry trends, changes in assessment standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure assessments remain current and relevant.
  • Foster a positive learning environment: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages learner engagement, motivation, and success.
  • Continuous professional development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance assessment skills and keep abreast of best practices in the field.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with learning difficulties.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communications skills across all levels.
  • Clean full driving licence and the willingness to drive company vehicles.
  • A Level 4 qualification relevant to the post or be willing to work towards one
