Overview and Responsibilities

Housekeeper – Aurora Hedgeway

 

Location: Pilning, Bristol, BS35 4JN

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

Actual Salary: £10,865.20 - £11,299.75 (£13.22 - £13.75 ph)
Contract: Permanent / Part-time / Term Time Only + 2 additional weeks


Closing Date: 15th March at Midnight

 

Aurora Hedgeway is a welcoming and specialist school for children and young people aged 7–19 with a diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs.

 

We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Housekeeper to help maintain high standards of cleanliness across the school, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

 

The Role

You will support the housekeeping team with daily cleaning duties across classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal spaces. Tasks will include:

  • Vacuuming, mopping and dusting
  • Cleaning sinks, surfaces and touch points
  • Refilling supplies and emptying bins
  • Maintaining hygiene standards in toilet areas
  • Using cleaning equipment and products safely

*Hours worked will either be before school opens or after 3.30pm, 3.5 hours per week, Monday -Friday*

 

Skills and Qualifications

About You

 

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work
  • Can work independently or as part of a team
  • Understands (or is willing to learn) Health & Safety and COSHH
  • Is physically able to carry out manual handling tasks
  • Ideally has experience in a school or SEN environment (desirable, not essential)
