Night Support Worker - Term Time Only Location: Cranborne, Dorset Hourly rate: £11.72 - £12.78+ £25 per night shift worked Annual Salary: £22,904.54 - £24,976.11 pro rata annual salary (FTE = £26,663.00 - £29,074.50)  Contract: permanent, full-time, term time only Hours: 7.45pm-8.15am- 4 on 4 off shifts- average of 43.75 hours per week.   About Us: At our Aurora Boveridge College, we support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional, autism and mental health needs.   We’re currently looking for a number of Life Preparation & Transition Night Support Workers to assist our students in their homes (on-site) (no personal care responsibilities). You will mentor and support our young people in their evening activities, sports, or hobbies both on and off site and ensure they settle for night. This will be with the use of verbal and visual prompting dependent on the need of the young person.    You’ll also provide a key liaison point for parents and carers and ensure all health/medical needs are looked after throughout the night. You will be the listening ear and emotional support for young people to talk to after a busy day.   The key to this role will be your ability to participate and to motivate whilst ensuring our students develop their own independent living skills.

Part time hours will also be considered.   At our Aurora Boveridge College, we support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional and mental health needs, by preparing them for adult life and facilitating their transition into further education, training or employment.    We’re currently looking for a Senior NightSupport Worker to assist our students at home (on-site) and during off-site activities.   Our working environment is amazing - To take a virtual tour around our site, click here; Boveridge Virtual Tour   The main purpose of the role:   The role is about supporting your Night Team Manager (and deputising in their absence) in working with a team of Support Workers to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first. The role will provide appropriate physical and emotional support to young people through the work of the support team within residential environments and with off-site activities.   Key duties: - Work directly and flexibly with all young people including covering absenteeism supporting on and off-site activities. - Ensure that all young people receive a high standard of care and live in a safe, clean and homely environment. - Ensure that each young person is treated as an individual, for instance bedrooms being personalised - Ensure that the health needs of the young people are met at all times - Take responsibility for the shift including making decisions regarding staffing levels and allocation in the absence of the Night Team Manager. - Complete regular supervisions and support the process of formal performance review. - Ensure Keyworker responsibilities are carried out - Take team meetings once a month - Keep records accurate and up-to-date in order to ensure information on the young person supports and informs reviews and development plans for the individual including documentation relating to learning, behaviour and well-being outcomes.   For the full job description, please contact Kirsty from the recruitment team kirsty.wilkinson@the-aurora-group.com
